this one's for the fans... ;)

One of the most common answers to the question "How are you doing these days?" seems to be "Busy....very busy...blah blah blah blah"

I hate that answer...
It sounds so self-important. Like the rest of the world ISN'T busy. What makes you so special?

Unfortunately, I must admit that business is the precise reason that I've fallen behind on my blogging duties. (I never realized I had so many readers who care!) Okay no more excuses...

An overall recap:

WORK
...where once I was feeling really bored and generally disinterested, I've recently been given a really great opportunity working outside my line of business and taking a stab at project management. IT's been really challenging, to be honest. I have 6 people working for me at the North York head office, and my business contacts are working on King St. I'm at an office at Yonge and Dundas, so this means that I'm glued to my computer battling emails and fighting fires, when I'm not travelling between offices. Needless to say, blogging from work has just not been happening.

...if this new role wasn't enough to mix it up at work, I still have my ongoing projects that I'm still in charge of.

...also, I'm in charge of planning our Year End Christmas party. With the crappiest budget. IT's almost embarassing calling up different venues and presenting them with what we have to spend per person. I dont' know if I can deal with anymore rejection and or stress at this point!

SALSA
...I've started teaching private lessons. It's been really fun experience and has been great extra income. It doesn't even feel like work. Aside from that, as I mentioned before, I am teaching my FIRST group class for Toronto Dance Salsa on October 29. I'm really excited and a little nervous too for some reason. I have some friends who have signed up for the class, so it should be pretty interesting.

...I was an art installation for Nuit Blanche as well. Rob and I got together with Vince and Janice, and we taught salsa lessons as part of this artist's Colombian art exhibit at Engine Gallery. IT was a LOT of fun. We danced all night and had a total blast meeting random new people.

...Tonight, I'm teaching a lesson at Plaza Flamingo if anyone wants to come out. I'm always looking to convert my friends to join the salsa side.

FRIENDS
...Amanda and Steve got engaged over the Thanksgiving weekend!!!
I'm so excited for them. Sharl and I was in Montreal at the time when my cellphone rang at 1am Saturday night. Here's how I received the news:

M: "Kim?? What are you doing right now?"
K: "Huh?? Sleeping..."
M: "Well you better get up!!"
K: "Why? What happened, are you okay??"
M: "SteveandIareengagedwillyoubemymaidofhonor????!!!!!"
K: "Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait...are you proposing to me?"

I'm really honored to be an M to the HIZZO....I couldn't be happier for these two. My best friends in the whole world :)

FAMILY
...Sharl got an Xbox 360. He is so happy. South Africa is also in the Rugby Semi finals this weekend so I anticipate a lot of excitement in the air.

...Xhosa is very fluffy and soft.
What more could I ask for in a dog?
In Montreal she captured everyone's heart.

...My parents got a new car.
I'm spending the day with my mom tomorrow...going to the spa for a massage and facial and then to lunch. It's been a while since we last hung out because she was vacationing for the past few weeks.

MISC
...I got a speeding ticket in Coburg!!!!!!! So angry about it. Was clocked at 126km/hr. No where near what some crazy drivers do on the highway. I was also driving the crappiest van on the road. FOr some reason the cops decided that I looked like the most threatening driver. Now I have a $120 fine, plus 3 demerit points....and I have to go to Coburg to fight a ticket. F!!!
