Hilarious comment from Sharl this morning on the crowded King Streetcar:
“How did you manage to score a seat when I had what I hope was a guy’s wallet pressed up against my back?”
Seriously…it was packed.
But I only have 6 more days of work left this year! Then vacation time!
Last night was our company Christmas day. First we had our team Christmas lunch and then our channel’s party after work. I was in charge of planning the party this year, so I got to man the drink tickets. The food was really good and the venue felt really warm and festive and the alcohol was free so I think people had a good time. :)
Since Sharl’s parents arrived, we’ve been up to family stuff GALORE…eating meals together and just hanging out. Sharl’s parents seriously know how to cook. So far we’ve eaten homemade bouillabaisse and coc au vin. I learned how to cook both now, so when I am brave enough to fillet a swordfish, clean squid and scrub mussels, I will try to make the bouillabaisse one day. It was SOOOOOO good.
Friday afternoon, Sharl and I picked out our very first Christmas tree. It’s about 6ft tall and we decorated it with white lights and gold/white decorations. The best ornament is one that my mom bought us that looks EXACTLY like Xhosa. I also put up evergreen garland with lights around the recessed ceiling above our breakfast bar. Our house feels so festive. Once I get my camera cord replaced I will post pics!
Saturday night, Lil, Jules, Sam and I went to see the Nutcracker ballet at the new Four Seasons Centre. Was absolutely beautiful…I loved it! Afterward, we went to College Street Bar for late night dinner and then went to Jules’ for drinks until really really late.
I can’t remember the last time I felt so Christmas-y at Christmastime!
