I saw the Dalai Lama. It was really drizzly yesterday, and though not raining exactly, the air was thick and the park was filled with people. There were a group of monks wearing yellow hats and blowing on these big horns and bellowing their reverberating bass chants. A few other bands were singing sorrowful songs about wanting to return to Tibet. The Dalai Lama was finally introduced and he spoke about the strength of the mind. It was quite a spiritual experience being there.

In the evening, we went to the aquarium and I fell in love with the Sea Lions. They are so adroable. I think a sea lion would make a good pal for little Xhosa. They could play together in the bath tub!
This aquarium was not as big as the one I went to in Chicago, but it was still pretty impressive. The best part was that our dinner was staged in front of the HUGE floor to ceiling acquarium with the beluga whales. Wolfgang Puck was the one who catered our dinner too, so the food was amazing!
They passed around the most tender lamb chops for cocktails, along with HUGE jumbo shrimp, oysters on the halfshell and crabcakes!
For dinner, there were 3 stations set up with jambalaya, short ribs with grits, seared scallops, halibut in dirty rice, fried green tomatoes, crabcakes, risotto and calamari salad.
The food was amazing, and so was the ambiance.
Dessert was equally impressive and pretty youthful. There was a big station filled with homemade penguin shapped candies, candied apples, caramel apples, chocolate molten cake, mini lemon merengue tarts and ice cream sorbet cones.
I retired in the hotel feeling really full.
Anyway, today we're off to a different hotel, and I want to get a pedicure and do some more shopping... I see that there is still a little bit of space left in my bag!
