I guess I'm at that age now where my summer weekends are starting to fill up with engagement parties, showers and weddings...because that's exactly what i seemto be planning most of my weekend plans around.

Friday was Winnie's birthday. She and her friends came down to our area to celebrate, and had dinner at my favourite Italian Restaurant. I was finishing up a dance class, so I didn't think I'd make dinner, but one phone call to Sharl confirmed that they hadn't eaten yet, so I didn't miss out on my favourite Spaghetti Pescatore, which I told Sharl to order as I hustled into a cab. After dinner, we walked to a fancy pants lounge, where I called Sam & Jeff to join us. We marveled at how some girls managed to squeeze into the tiniest dresses and too-high shoes. I know that long shirts and trapeze tops are in, but.....arent' they suppsed to be worn with pants? or leggings? I guess the tunic tops are sometimes mistaken for dresses. We spent the evening outside on the patio talking over drinks, and then we strolled home to our poor neglected puppy.

On Saturday, we drove up "north" (Bathurst and Sheppard) for Sharon and Evan's Engagement party. Evan's parents transformed their beautiful backyard into a huge formal party-scape. It looked something out of an Audrey Hepburn movie...but with a little rain. No one seemed to mind though. There were white tents, tables with crisp linen, caterers, a dj, and a live SALSA band!!
It was so much fun and I even got sharl dancing with us under the tree canopy.
After the dancing, there was a huge dessert bar with cake, build-your-own icecream sundaes, pies, fresh fruit, and chocolate. We had so much fun that a bunch of us wanted to continue partying into the night.
So after a quick refresh to change at home, I headed out to Lula with Ildi, Alfred, Nina, Mark, John, Vince and Carolina for more dancing madness. My feet were pretty sore when I got home.

Sunday was nice and relaxed. After church, it was nice and sunny so Sharl and I went for a walk with Xhosa. We stopped at Chippy's on Queen for some fish and chips with pepper mayo, and then had a picnic at Trinity bellwoods park. Xhosa is still the cutest dog in all the dog parks we've been to. :)
Afterward I went to visit my parents....did some shopping...I bought some new bedside lamps for our bedroom! Makes our room look hotel-y now. Looks nice.

Now it's monday. I have a case of the mondays today.
