Friday night the Raps suffered a devastating loss against the Nets....Calderon did not even set up a last attempt for a basket in the final 8 seconds! At least the get together was fun and saved us from a going into a depression. Friends from South Africa moved just down the street from us this week!

Saturday night was the lovely Marissa's 25th birthday and we hung out at a fancypants lounge with a glass fire.
I particularly liked the white fur coats they gave us to wear outside. I kept referring to the coat as my luxe fox fur. I was wearing a short dress underneath so I looked like a flasher when I wore the coat. This provided me with some short-lived entertainment. Jen was another source of entertainment though because she had to find the only wall to lean against that was actually a swinging door. Poor Jen. But the ultimate in hilarity was Marissa with her 5 ft state of drunkenness. I think Sharl had the most fun with that by trying to ask her questions that kept making her confused!

Sharl and I topped our night off with some class: a double quarter pounder with cheese (for him!), chicken Mc Nuggies and fries.
Sunday, after church, I made a special cake for Jules' birthday. It was an ice cream cake with a chewy peanut butter cookie dough on the bottom, chocolate chip ice cream in the middle with Reese chocolate drizzle and Reese's pieces to decorate the top. It was a big success at the BBQ party. I will definitely have to try making this again. Was super good and super easy.
I was so excited to go to a BBQ since Sharl and I don't have a BBQ in our condo. There was so much food: home cured salmon, shrimp, steak, sausages, grilled veggies, hors d'oeuvres... we ate until we were full and tired. Xhosa was so tuckered out from playing with all of the guests!
I love Toronto in the summertime. Such a buzz of excitement in the air :)
