Yesterday in a rush to get to class, I quickly grabbed my dance shoes and ran outside to catch the streetcar. When I got out at my stop, I thanked my driver, crossed Bay St. and suddenly realized that I was not carrying anything in my hands. I only had enough time to whip around to see the streetcar nowhere in sight. I felt so helpless and IRRITATED. I have a competition on Sunday and these are the shoes I have been practicing in. They were so comfortable, flexible and really pretty!!!
So I quickly called 393-INFO in hopes of getting someone to alert the streetcar driver about my very important dilemma only to reach a plethora of automated messages about the lost and found hours and locations. The TTC doesn't care. People lose things on the subway/streetcar all the time. They can provide information in 77 different languages but can't use their networked CB system as a detective service to contact my driver and rescue my precious shoes. OUTRAGE!
So now I wait...and see if a good Samaritan has returned my shoes to the lost and found. And in the meantime, I scour the streets in search for a suitable new pair of shoes.
