So I didn't find my shoes that I lost on the streetcar :( Instead, I went back to the shoe store in hopes of finding another pair, and they had ONE left. ONly it was half a size too big. Since they have ankle straps, I decided to buy them anyway.

My friend Nina had suggested that though it might sound sketchy, I should check out stripper stores for a dance costume. I figured that since I was in the Yonge and Wellsley location, I would bravely take a look. The first store I stopped at was right next to the shoe store, and while it wasn't a stripper store, there were a LOT of colorful clubby tops and flashy dresses that were PERFECT for costumes! I grabbed a bunch of asymetrical angled skirts and dresses and went into the change room. One of the short skirts even had built in shorts which I found would be perfect for all my salsa spins. As I emerged from the dressing room to look in the mirrors, so did the person in the dressing room next to me. It was... a man....trying on the same dress as me. He looked at me and said, "This dress is fitting me too tight...looks better on you."

I then realized that at Yonge and Wellesley, the dress shop I was in was a costume shop indeed....a DRAG QUEEN costume shop!!

I also realized why there were "handy" shorts built into the skirts.

Anyway...I made 3 purchases and can't wait to wear these new dresses. And while I might not have to worry about another woman wearing the same dress as me, I'll have to be careful in which circles I wear these dresses, for fear that a man somewhere can steal my thunder.
