Ever since Christmas, I've used my new magic bullet to make smoothies in the morning. My favourite combinations were:
Vegan Tropical Smoothie
1/2 banana
3-4 chunks of papaya
3-4 chunks of mango
1/2 package of coconut flavor dessert tofu
1/2 cup vanilla soy milk
4 ice cubes
Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie
1 medium banana
2 tsp peanut butter
squeeze of honey
small handful of cereal (i use Life)
1/2 cup vanilla soy milk or regular milk
4 ice cubes
Berrybanana
1/2 banana
3-4 large strawberries
handful of raspberries
3-4 tbsp vanilla yogurt or dessert tofu
1/2 cup orange juice
4 ice cubes
These smoothies were a delight to my morning, UNTIL out of NOWHERE, I developped some kind of negative reaction to bananas!! It took me a week of bad stomach pains to figure it out. About 10 minutes after eating bananas, my stomach felt it was punched hard. I got severe cramps for the next 2 hours out of my morning. This happened a week before I figured it out.
So I let a few weeks pass by and then today I tried again and realized that it was true. Bananas give me bad stomachaches.. :( To those who know how much of a foodie I am, you would understand how crushed I feel that a certain food has turned against me.
All I ever did was love you, food....why are you giving me an allergy??
I feel betrayed.
On a side note:
The Raptors won last night and scored over 100 FGs against the Knicks!!! YAY! This means I can turn my ticket stub into free pizza today for lunch. That makes me happy and almost erases my sadness over the loss of the banana.
