When I get home, I am always greeted enthusiastically by my puppy, Xhosa. She runs up to me and jumps up and down whimpering until I pick her up for a hug. This is one of my most favourite things about having a dog.
On Wednesday, I went out for dinner with some girlfriends and when I came home, Xhosa ran up to me excitedly and then after a few seconds she walked ashamedly to hide under the bed. Hiding under the bed is always a clear indication that she has done something naughty while alone in the apartment. Sometimes, it means that she has dragged her poo into the living room, sometimes it means that she has chewed a pair of shoes, and sometimes it means that she has gotten into our laundry and has hidden our socks all over the place. This particular night, she had CLEARLY made a disaster in our appartment.....with toilet paper! She somehow got hold of the roll and had strewn it all over the place. An entire roll of TP was all over our house ripped to shreds, she also pulled all the towels off the rack and dragged them to the middle of the floor where her toilet paper rippings were. It was actually quite hilarious to see and by the time sharl and i cleaned it up we were laughing but also mad at the same time. She stayed hiding under the bed for the rest of the night, punishing herself for her naughty behavior. It was funny how she knew it was bad, but at the same time, she did it anyway!
