Saturday morning after breakfast, Sharl and I spent a leisurely day outside in High Park. I love the cool crispy fall air and the smell of soggy grass. Plus, it'll be one of the last few weekends that it will be warm enough to spend outside before winter comes.
We went to the zoo in the park and saw a bunch of animals...some kind of white mountain goats, lazy yaks, some kind of marsupials, peacocks and this testosterone overloaded turkey with a point to prove.

Did you know that male turkeys puff out their feathers and turn their heads blue and red when people come over to look at their female turkeys?? They also make these huffy stomping noises and grow a wobbly looking dangling skin over their beaks. It was funny to watch. There were a bunch of little toddlers around and we were all just as impressed as they were. I think going to the zoo makes such a great date. Plus being among young families for the first time gave me a fuzzy feeling about the future....

After playing in the park, we went out for lunch and ate pizza and lasagna and had a nice late afternoon nap.

In the evening, I went out to Acrobat lounge. I had a good time working up a sweat and killing my feet, but i've started to become irritated with playing the who-knows-who-phoniness game i thought i left behind in asian cluburbia. I guess this is inevitable when frequenting any type of specialized gathering. The salsa community is small. But at least it is primarily friendly, and I like it there. And it is nice that i will run into my regulars who are really just there for the love of dancing. Apples and Oranges.

On another note... it's almost November and that means that the Gourmet Wine and Food expo is near! Can't wait.
