What started off a couple years ago as a curious interest piqued in Cuba, has now turned into my most enjoyable hobby. At first I remember being a little intimidated when I went out to salsa clubs, watching all of the advanced dancers doing fluid combinations of spins and weaves and dips. Last Friday, I went out to Acrobat Lounge with some other assistants and I had a great time. I was a little reserved at first because I hadn't gone out to a salsa club in a LONG time, but while I was dancing my first dance, all of the moves that I had internalized from taking classes seemed to fall in place like riding a bike. Before I knew it I was doing multiple spins and weaves and dips. So much fun...and by the end of the night my feet were hurting and my whole body was sweaty. I can't wait to go out again on Sunday.
Saturday afternoon I had THE best time with Mandy. We went vintage shopping and I scored a new jacket and a pair of skinny jeans. Not sure if the skinny jeans are really my thing yet....but at $25, I couldn't turn it down. I guess if I wear heels with them, my thighs may have the illusion of looking longer and leaner. Mandy found this pretty Chanel sweater with FUR on the collar. Lucky.
After shopping, we ate some really yummy shawarmas at a Lebanese restaurant. We drank JUMEX juice which to me sounded like one of those random juices only found in Caribbean shops. It quickly became my favourite drink.
We topped the afternoon off with pedicures and lattes.
Later in the evening, Jen and Marissa met up with us at my condo, and we went for dinner at Cafe Cinquecento for pizza, pasta and tiramisu. I will never grow up from girls nights, I don't think.
Sunday, Sharl and I went shopping for meat and bread and vegetables in Kensington for the feast we would prepare later that night. We made roast pork with crackling and roasted veggies and had Tristan and Jules over for dinner. It was our first official 'Sunday dinner.'
Tonight I will go watch Sharl's basketball game and cheer for him like a good supportive wife. Then i will come home, hopefully in time to watch ANTM. That show is like crack.
