I booked an introductory lesson at the dance academy where a professional dance instructor assesed the way I danced, and made some recommendations about what I should work on, and customized sessions that I should sign up for. I really wanted to try something professional this time, so was keen on having a private instructor to improve my moves. The dance instuructor was really nice....a Cuban, nonetheless. We worked on the rhumba, bachata, salsa and merengue, and he kept pointing out small details on foot work and arm placements and tension. Totally different than group lessons, and I really liked the attention to detail.
HOWEVER.
I could not afford him even if I wanted to.
I was really disappointed.
If anyone knows a GOOD latin dance instructor who will teach for reasonable rates, please drop me a line.
