Last Thursday: Sharl's bday dinner was a success. If you want to see what I cooked for him, check out the pictures on my photo album #2. Open for a limited time only.
Last Friday: I took my G test in the morning. I was extra cautious and was determined to pass the first time. There was one point were I became a bit nervous and I was making a right turn while waiting for the light to turn green. The instructure after a good long while said, "You know you can turn right on a red light right?" My face flushed and my heart sank, thinking I failed, but in one glorious matter-of-fact moment I replied, "Sorry, I forgot. I'm from Montreal."
I passed.
Friday afternoon, I spent with Sharl, pretending to study, and in the evening we went out for dinner for my mom's birthday.
Saturday: I was awake at 7:30 debating whether I should get up or try to go back to sleep, when my phone rings. It was none other than my bestest bud wondering if I could come over for breakfast. I love how we're both freakishly early risers...not wanting to waste the morning away sleeping. We were all woken up, fed, and alert and ready to study before 9am.... but of course we found every reason to stall from studying right away. After deciding that school was to dismal, we went to the tea house, thinking that it should be dead enough there in the afternoon. Sipping on mango tea, my brave stray away from my usual honeydew flavor, I managed to get some decent denting into the world of Intellectual Property and Internet Law.
In the evening I went to work, and was in a good mood for once. I think all I really need to NOT hate the world is just ONE day off to regroup and do what I want. Working 7 days a week is just way too draining.
Sunday: After church I studied at school with S & B. When we got bored of being there, we went to B's house to study some more. I finally met her friend with whom I'd been speaking on the phone for months. His hospitality manners remind me of my own.
Monday: Exam day. I studied with S at school all day until our exams in the evening. I found a copy of the previous year's IP law exam in the library database, and when I sat down to write the exam, I found that they were almost IDENTICAL. I couldn't believe myluck, since I felt that I wasn't as prepared as I could have been. I could potentially ace this exam!
Since S and I were both done at the same time, we went home together and rented a movie. S cooked some nice comfort girl/boyfriend-y food for dinner...Hamburger Helper. I love how there are secret boy/grlfriend foods that are eaten together that just make you feel so good indulging in, no matter how disgusting. Hamburger Helper, along with KD and hotdogs with ketchup... or canned chilli with toast, and scrambled eggs on hashbrowns. These foods are good any time of the day, from breakfastime to midnight snacking....and are usually followed by tandem belly rubs in front of the TV when the fats have nestled into the intestines. This is one of the best feelings. This is what love feels like.
S even let me pick out the movie from the video store. Big Fish is a really good movie, by the way. I love love love the lighting techniques used in this movie. It looks so fantastical. I almost* cried. Anyone who really loves a good story should rent this movie.
