gogogo

This whole week/weekend has gone by in a huge blur. Friday, we left Lévis and said goodbye to everyone. Diégo dropped us off at the train station and I left for Montreal.
At Gare Centrale, I met my parents, and we headed out to my grandparents house.

Saturday afternoon was spent preparing for my grandpa's 80th bday party. I was organizing some of the menu and food preparations with my mom and my aunt....my fav thing to do. I love party planning in the food department! My little cousin, Aislyn was such a big help as she helped me wash and chop stuff for the grilled vegetable dish. She especially liked mushing the advocados for the guacamole. Everything turned out really nice, and we all had a good time.

Our menu was:

Appetizers

  • Lobster and shrimp mousse on toasted baguette
  • Chilled shrimp with various dips
  • Bruschetta
  • Guacamole with pitas

    Main

  • Grilled Teriyaki chicken brochettes
  • Grilled vegetable medly
  • Linguini alioli with sundried tomatoes and fresh basil
  • Caesar salad
  • Homemade potato salad

    Dessert

  • Ice cream cake
  • Fresh fruit
  • Lemon cheese mousse with berries

It was fun to spend time with the family. I took all the little kiddies to the park, and played games with them. I wanted to take my cousin Luka home with me, he was so cute.

Sunday afternoon, we took the train home to Toronto, and as soon as I got in and unpacked, I went over to Sharl's house to help him move.
His new place is further away from me than where he used to live, which sucks...and also his place is a bit smaller than the last one. Actually, it's probably around the same size, however, his roommate's room is so much bigger, which makes it seem worse. Since Sharl was in the army all weekend, he didnt' get fair dibs on picking rooms. HOWEVER...this house does have a POOL! Hopefully this will make up for the extra distance, and smaller living quarters.

Anyway...I'm back in the office in Toronto today, and when i opened my email... I had floods of work requests from Quebec. Apparently they didn't know that I was THAT good at using the Ingenium system before I made myself known in Quebec. Now they're sending me all sorts of mini projects to work on. I guess it's kinda cool...now i feel more involved.
