Political Correctness has killed common courtesy

Today on a very busy streetcar, I was rammed into the aisle next to an elderly lady with a cane. A woman sitting on the aisle seat moved over, while making eye contact with the old lady. The old lady said cheerfully, "Don't worry, I get off a the next stop." The seated lady looks down, notices the old lady's cane and says, "I didn't even notice you had a cane. I wasn't offering my seat to you, I was just putting my bag on the floor. It wasn't because I thought you were in need." The elderly lady simply smiles. The seated lady then deepens the hole she dug for herself by continuing on with some lame conversation..."So, does this streetcar run along St. Clair West?"

Equal rights. We work so hard at trying to play it safe.. not to offend anyone, to do the PC thing, that it's just plain ridiculous.
Exercising equal rights does not mean that people should be indifferent. When people need help they need help... regardless of their abilities or disabilities. It's just common courtesy.

A few weeks ago at school, I saw a guy in a walker struggling to buying candy at the vending machine. I wanted to offer him some help, but I was too afraid he'd be offended so I walked by pretending not to notice. I am also a victim of PC.
