Jalapeno Cornbread Attempt #2
After a first failed attempt in what turned out to be some very sucky muffins, I am proud to announce that I have mastered the baking art of cornbread. I took it out of the oven 10 minutes ago and am now enjoying a nice buttered slice of steaming jalapeno cornbread. mmmmmmm! Just like Big Daddy's. Well, almost.
If you happened to notice the odd time stamp at which this blog was written, you have read correctly. It is four o'clock in the morning.
David and his friends came upstairs from the basement around 3am and noticed me in my apron and oven mits..."What are you doing, ya freak???"
What?..some people count sheep...
Others bake.
I also cooked dinner for David and myself tonight. I made us spicy minced vegetarian tofu with vermicelli wrapped in lettuce leaves, and chinese dumplings.
I figured that he would appreciate not having to eat cereal for dinner had he been forced to cook for himself. Besides...cooking for one is just not as fun. And David loves to eat. I like people who love food.
I miss my Sharlie-pie-bear-muffin. I forgot how sucky weekend army trips were. Today I wrapped myself around the of his body saying that he'd have to go with me still attatched to him like a possum. I let go when I realized that I was being just a leeetle bit clingy. Apparently being clingy is frowned upon by most boys. So is attatching "ie-pie-bear-muffin" to the end of their names.
Anyway.. can't wait till he comes home on Sunday, so we can hang out, eat and watch tv. Yup.. I really appreciate the finer things in life...
