I spent my day sleeping... until 2!! This is getting ridiculous. But oh man was it ever great. I really needed it cuase I am staying up tonight to work at my 15 page Visual Culture Essay (worth 40%) entitled:

Theories of the Post Colonial Female Gaze: Mira Nair, Deconstructing the African/Indian Gaze by Reclaiming the Voices of “Exotic” Women

How did I invent such a complicated topic? Oh my. It all started with my fad of watching Bollywood films. It started with Hollywood Bollywood, then Langan, then Mother India then Monsoon Wedding, then Bend it Like Beckam, then Kama Sutra. My friend Amandeep lent me one called Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. For my birthday, he got me a dvd called Hangama... one thing led to another and I was hooked. Bollywood films are so visually enticing... the colors, the dancing, the singing, the cheesiness. I love it. Now I am judging them based on a feminist perspective. I have so much to say yet 15 pages is really intimidating.

Boo. Becky cancelled plans with me tonight right after saying how she missed me. I was disappointed, but I am going to have to get used to sharing. Sharl says that it is my turn now to be at the other end.

I have eaten 5 Godiva chocolates over the course of one hour. They little balls of heaven wrapped in a little gold box. Remind me to thank Amandeep again for the exquisite pressie.

For my photography assignment I took pictures at the Chinese restaurant I was eating at. The server got all shy when I randomly clicked away as she brought us our food. There's something really powerful about the lens of a camera.
